Zahara Craze!

I must admit that I was not a fan of Zahara at first but its difficult not to acknowledge this soul sister!

TS Records has struck gold with the labels newest signing, Zahara. Already the singer, songwriter and guitarist has caused a stir with a guest appearance on Nhlanhla Nciza’s DVD. Working with producers like Robbie Malinga, Zahara represents a new generation of South African female artists through her songwriting and guitar playing. Loliwe is Zahara's first album which has 12 soulful tracks performed in isiXhosa and English, it features a series of hits, from the highly popular 'Loliwe' to spiritually uplifting ballads such as ‘Destiny’ and ‘Ndiza’. Zahara, in her early 20’s produces a fresh, unique and real album with catchy melodies, which are currently on high rotation.

The Eastern Cape-born and bred singer and songwriter's album, has proved a smash-hit. Her Afro-soul acoustic is above that of other sounds in her genre with comparisons in the mould of respected icons such as Asa, Tracy Chapman, India Arie and Erika Badu, Zahara is budding with talent.
