VOTE FOR "MZANSI'S SEXIEST"

Sowetan has opened their votes once again for this years sexiest South African celebrities. I have to be biased here, and pick two of my favorite nominees, Minnie Dlamini and Luclay Misoya. These two are arguably the best from the rest. Minnie represents the true beauty of a woman and Luclay on the other hand represented South Africa on BBA. Both these stars deserve the special title! You can vote for your sexiest celeb to walk away with the ultimate title of this competition - SowetanLIVE's Mzansi's Sexiest. You have to email the name of who you think deserves the title from the 12. If you think they have what it takes for final title, send their name on email to -tellus@sowetan.co.za.

Fashion Focus: Baxolile 'Bax' Nodada

After winning the best dressed category at this year's Closing Function, I approached Bax for a celebratory photoshoot! Here he is wearing a few of his Summer must-haves!

The nautical look: A chilled outfit that can be worn during the day and night is complete with chinos and a plain vest!

The white shirt: Because summer is filled with hot days, a white shirt is necessary to cool you down from the heat!Bax wears his shirt with black shorts to reveal a bit of flesh!

The man-bag: Although some guys are still sceptical about the man-bag it serves as a conclusion to the outfit! Here Bax wears his man bag with matching brown loafers!

The hat: A protector from the sun's rays is pivotal this Summer and what better way to do that with a slick paper-boy like hat!

The Hair drama!

I can’t remember the last time I had my natural hair, or rather the longest time I have embraced my natural hair! I invest my money on weaves and braids just so that I can look good! I put up with long and painful procedures at the salon just so that I can look good! The one thing that I have come to realise about looking good is that you first have to suffer the consequences of looking good before you actually get the results. It’s just like how life works; you cannot be successful unless you work for that success. I have come to a point in my life that how my hair looks defines my confidence! When I’m in my natural hair, I find myself looking for hideouts because I don’t want people to ask me about the volcano that’s erupting on my head! On the other hand, when I’m braided or weaved up I walk with pride because my shining glory is up to standard! I believe the media is all to blame for this misconception about good hair! Weaves have become synonymous with beauty and confidence! Looking at our South African celebrities, only one lady stands out for me who has not only reversed the cycle of weaving, but has remained beautiful and true to herself! Zizo Beda is such an inspiration to the non-plastic generation!

Still I rise by Maya Angelou

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,

Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard!

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,

But still, like air, I'll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?
Out of the huts of history's shame

I rise

Up from a past that's rooted in pain

I rise

I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear

I rise

Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear

I rise

Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.

I rise

I rise

I rise.
