The Hair Drama will never end...

Black hair has become one of the biggest topics on social networks following 3rd Degree’s take on the matter. I honestly don’t know why Debra Patter is hailed as one of the best Journalist since she always has her own presumed conclusions, but I must say the episode on BLACK HAIR was well documented. The debate on natural hair versus weaves had me thinking about Chris Rock’s Good hair. It’s scary how we just weave on other people’s hair without questioning the whole process of getting that perfect hair. I’m not against natural or weaved hair because I strongly believe that your hair should enhance your beauty and not define it. Having a weave shouldn’t characterize your personality, after all some weaves are 100% human hair. The plastic connotations attached to weaves are ridiculous. It’s bizarre how people assume what type of person you are with the hair that you have. Being in short-hair has made people deem me as a culture-conscious sister (which I’m really not-but I am trying to become one). It’s up to you to decide what hair style you want but I’ve learnt that conforming to the norm doesn’t bring out my uniqueness.

I have chosen a natural look to go with my new take on life.

  1. OMG i was praying and hoping you watched, that episode. Ms patta is too up in yo face for me, chasing people down corridors and all that.

As for hair and ladies, i have no comment. I think beauty is like perfection. We learnt in ENGLISH class that the word perfect does not take a superlative or comparative. So most perfect and more perfect are both incorrect.

i think the same can be said about beauty its not something one improves upon. i think the question here has to do with appearance. Hence people tend to paint the skin yellow, cheeks pink, eyes dark, lips red. perhaps we can call it the appearance of beauty. i blv beauty is within and its seen thru action and words and character.

natural hair, fake hair, multi colored paint on the face does not and i blv can not truly communicate beauty. So i say....let there be fake hair!!!

  2. Wow!Well said Mr Blue-I love how you differentiated beauty and appearance! I think it's about time we truly acknowledged inner beauty than appearance. I know in the society we live in so much of how you look matters the most.

I say let there be fake hair too-Just not fake personalities!
