As Christians, it is quite often that we seek and have a desire for a relationship with Jesus, but instead, we persue a relationship with sin. In Romans (7:15), Paul talks about this very thing: We seem to have a want to do things, yet we don’t do them, and we seem to not want to do things, to stay away from them, yet we still do them. I think it is often we take the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross as a gateway to do what we like. However, the reality is that Jesus came to set us free, to free us from our sin - not so that we would become slaves to sin. God never declared the Christian life to be easy - in fact, He tells us it will be tough - but He also tells us that it is worth every second it - we just need to abide in his faithfulness.
